Rebirth Example - Laywoman Lin Get Reincarnated while Sitting Upright 林黃綢老居士 下手得益

Let's see this venerable laywoman Lin, Huang Chou. She is the maternal grandma of a lotus friend in our Analects Class. She was old and never learnt Buddhism. This lotus friend from the Analects class has just come into contact with Buddhism. He knew some Buddhist principles and was very filial. He was worried that his grandma having cancer in her old age knew nothing about Buddhism. It was terrifying to think about where his grandma would be reincarnated in the next life.
Take Maudgalyayana for example, his mother degenerated into hungry ghost path. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva's mother degenerated into hell. You can't say: My child is a Bodhisattva, so I can be free from punishment.

Thanks for Ksitigarbha's filial piety, her mom was liberated from hell.
Because this student was very concerned with his grandma's rebirth, he invited us to his home to introduce Pure Land Buddhism to her. The elder is a honest and simple housewife, just like the ordinary. On hearing dharma, she immediately accepted it with pleasure and began to be mindful of Buddha.
In addition, we gave her a chanting machine so that when she felt tired, she could hear the sound of the Buddha's name and thus maintain a pure mind and continue chanting.
Later, on the day of her rebirth, she looked no different. Many descendants, friends, and relatives came to see her. After greeting, they were asked to leave.

She told her children to turn up the chanting machine provided by the Lotus Society. Then she sat in meditation, and did the Amitabha mudra without anyone teaching her. How did she know that? Her children also felt strange. She was chanting the Buddha while sitting.
Later, a friend of her came to see her. Her child said: My mom is chanting Buddha, it's best not to disturb her. So they didn't bother her. After she kept sitting for a while, they decided to go in to check on her. They entered and found out that she had been incarnated while sitting. Excellent. She took Amitabha mudra while sitting upright and got reincarnated amid the sound of reciting the Buddha's name.

You see, if you set to recite this Buddha's name, you will gain blessing immediately. Because her grandson was filial, he invited lotus friend to his home, lectured on Buddhism once, and persuaded her to recite the Buddha's name, and she agreed to start practicing.
Thus, such a cancer patient passed away simply without any sign. Recite the Buddha, sit and get reincarnated. The Venerable Laywoman Lin, Huang Chou is so outstanding. We wish her all the best and hope she will return on her own volition.
