Rebirth example - Layman Lai Supports Mission and Gets Blessing 賴棟樑老居士 護道獲福

Next, let's see this venerable layman Dongliang Lai. He was the first lotus friend that Teacher Li met when he came to Taiwan. He was also a Chinese medical doctor. He was kind of believe in Buddhism but couldn't find a good teacher. So virtuous intellectuals are hard to find. It is indeed difficult to find a virtuous person with knowledge of Dharma. He looked everywhere but couldn't find one. and his earnest got respond to meet Teacher Li. Just like a fish meets water. It's the most joyful thing in a lifetime. Then he was devoted to supporting Teacher Li's mission. In the early days, Buddhism was not as popular as it is now.

After learning Buddhism, he regretted that his whole family had not yet fully practiced Buddhist chanting. In addition, he also wrote some key notes on Pure Land Buddhism. I read his notes and he said that he would rather go to the Pure Land and do hard labor for Amitabha than enjoy a wealthy life in the Saha world. In fact, Amitabha cannot offer you a labor work over there. It just shows his determination for rebirth. Our Teacher Li established the Lotus Society, the first Buddhist society in Taiwan, also established the first Buddhist hospital, Bodhi Hospital. There is a prayer room inside. If this person can't make it, no further unnecessary interference, send him to the prayer room.

This Layman Lai was so blessed that he is the first user of the prayer room. Now our Bodhi Hospital has built another building with a prayer room. After it's finished, the business is prosperous.
