A: I was under the jurisdiction of East Mountain Emperor, but I have never seen him. I only reported the results upward after the judgment.

along with numerous attendant ghosts.

I once judged a ghost who did a lot of evil. In his life, he cultivated goodness on the surface but made evil secretly. He desperately deny the sin he committed. I saw his cases of crimes piled up like a mountain, and the evidence was conclusive, then I wanted to sentence immediately. I didn't expect that the ghost would suddenly recite the "Diamond Sutra."
The jurors on the left and right saw the red light on his head and hurriedly asked me to stop the trial.
I suspected that the left and right attendants accept bribes for favoritism, so I was still preparing to sentence. However, the ghost kept reciting the sutra, and the jurors urged me to stand up solemnly.
I said, "As a judge, how can I stand up solemnly for a criminal?"
The left and right jurors said, "That's not what we meant. The Buddha's light appears on the top of this ghost's head. Interrogating him would be blasphemous and disrespectful. It's better to stop the trial."
I saw them standing solemnly with their hands down, looking very respectful. So I asked them: "How do I handle this case?"
They said, "It's better to sentence him to rebirth several times so that he can't remember the Diamond Sutra, and then sentence him."
I said, "Let him be reborn in a human womb.
Wouldn't it be a bargain for him? If he is reborn several times, then he'll get the bitter retribution hundreds of years later.
Wouldn't it delay his retribution?"
The jurors said: "Let him be reborn as a baby who died just after birth. It will be several lifetimes in a few years. Because he committed sins and will have the retribution of evils, he recites sutras and has the merits of reciting sutra. Neither can be easily offset. He will receive rewards and suffering separately in the future. There won’t be any minor mistake.”
Therefore, I agreed.
Q: After a person's death, is his mind confused as if in the dream or sober as usual?
A: As sober as usual.
Q: Do you feel mentally tired when you return to the world from the underworld?
A: I feel a little tired, as if I didn't sleep well.
