Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

Speaking of cause and effect, We need to understand cause and effect. If you do good deeds and transfer the merit and pray for family peace, do good deeds for the children to study well, do good deeds for the husband to make lots of money. This is good fortune. If you think this charitable deeds is what you should do.
It's like Sakya Buhhda said: All the parents in the world are like my parents, all the children in the world are like my children. If you treat people with this kind of attitude. If the elders are the same age as your parents, treat them like your parents. It is our duty to support our parents. We have to nurture our children when they are young. If seeing the helpless children, we take care of them and regard them as our own descendants. We should nurture them. This is merit.
After we thoroughly study cause and effect, If you want to take the acquired path. The acquired path is that you have requirements. If you take the innate path to be free of birth and death, you should not have requirement. All things are created by the mind. Whether you take the acquired path or the innate path depends on your mind.
If you learn more, you may comprehend it more deeply. It says in the Book of Changes, transfer the way. Don't think it's only a little virtue. We cited some stories before. Don't think it's a little bit. Many a little had made a mickle.

The little things do add up. Plant melon will get melon. Plant loofahs will not get cucumbers. Plant loofahs will grow loofahs. Plant beans will grow beans. The causes of previous lives, whether good causes or bad causes will bring good results or bad results. The families that accumulate virtues will leave a good fortune to their descendants. The families that accumulate evils will naturally bring misfortune to their descendants.
Therefore, we understand, Wicked families bring misfortune to future generations. Bad karma can even lead to family breakdown. The whole family could be eliminated.
Today I will tell a story. Although one just did a small good deed after cultivating, one can be achieved. If one does evil, even if he cultivated in the previous life. It's a pity he did evils this life and caused the family to break up.
I will cite a story now. This story starts with ChangChun Qiu (1148-1227) in the legend of North 7 True. After ChangChun Qiu understood the truth, he thought since he had understood the truth that his teacher taught him, I want to transfer the truth I learnt to the worldly people and pass it on to the next generations. He wanted to go out to ferry people. He bid farewell to his teacher, left the place where he lived and headed for remote towns.

One day he came to a place. There is a creek outside the village. There was a tile-roofed house by the creek
where a wealthy family lived. Qiu was from the Yuan Dynasty. At that time, only the rich could live in tile-roofed houses. The owner's last name is Wang and first name is Yun. He was mean. How mean? He was not generous at all. While selling the goods, he secretly adjusted the scales to make the goods heavier in weight. If people were poor, he looked down upon them and bullied them. Because he was a wealthy man. How much wealth he had? He had many land fields, servants, and maids. The upper beam is not straight, the lower beam is crooked. The subordinates saw their host always bullying people.
Wang often bullied his subordinates and the poor. The subordinates saw their master always bullying people while going outside, they acted the same as their master, also bullied others. The upper is not straight, the lower becomes crooked.
They were afraid of their master at home but outside they became tigers.

There was a gigantic stone beside Wang's door, and it was as high as a man, with a big head and a small tail. When you abruptly look at it, it was like a stone lion. All the villagers called it stone lion. It was like a lion.
When the Wang's servants and workers went out to work. at lunchtime, a guard would hit the stone with a stick, as if hitting a bell. When the stone was hit, it made a massive sound. The workers around heard the sound and knew it was lunchtime and came back. It became a rule.
Not far away from their house, there was a hill. So they lived near the hillside. There was a Guanyin temple on the hill built by Wang's ancestors. All the field properties around belong to Wang. The Guanyin Temple was built by Wang's ancestors and passed on to Yun Wang. He did not believe in buddhas or gods and drove the abbot away and abandoned this old temple. Since then, the temple has been in ruins and no one managed it. It had been impaired for a long time, and rare people came here to make offerings and became a broken temple.
