Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

Good evening everyone, I will talk about karma. We've discussed this several times, let's move on. Let's see the Buddha Light Dictionary.
About the cause and effect connecting for lifetimes. A person's wealth and social status in this life are caused by his good and bad deeds in his previous life. If the person is poor, it means that he did not have good karma in his previous life, absolutely did not do good deeds so that he is poor in this life.
1:00
If a person is rich, he must have given charity in the past lives. If poor, he didn't give. If a person has a status or becomes an official, he must have done good deeds in his previous life. If a person is poor or lowly in this life, he must have done no good deeds in his previous life. That is because he didn't create good causes. Or, he made evil causes. Poor families also produce unworthy children as a result of doing evil. In short, a person's situation in this life stems from his karma in previous lives.
2:00
Furthermore, what you do in this life will affect your condition in the afterlife. If you do good deeds, you will be a rich man or an official in the next life. If you didn't do good deeds and didn't make good affinity, you will be poor and lowly in the next life. It says good and bad deeds are rewarded.
I'm gonna tell a long story today, about good causes produce good results, and evil causes produce bad results. What I'm about to tell is a true story. This is a story told by Teacher's wife. Teacher rearranged it and I recorded it and tell you.
3:00
About an immoral woman. The names in the story are false, but the story is true. We must conceal evil and promote good. It's a story happened in Taiwan.
After Ahui died, Awu and the others are still alive. Their descendants still exist. I can't say where they are. Teacher revealed that before. They are at some place in the south. She was a classmate of Teacher's wife when she was a teenager.
A man named Awu Chen had 3 sons. The eldest son’s name is Apie, and his wife is Ajiao.
4:00
The 2nd son is Achen, and his wife is Akin. The 3rd son is Ato, and his wife is Ahui. 3 sons with different personalities. 3 daughter-in-laws with different personalities. The eldest daughter-in-law, Ajiao, is a cunning, crafty, and talkative woman. She can be said to have one mouth with two tongues. Her lies sound like the truth. Her husband is weak and afraid of wife. When his wife yells at him, the sound he hears is like thunder. While stamping her feet, he panicked. He is the henpecked king. The 2nd daughter-in-law, Akin, is very honest.
5:00
She respects her parents-in-law and husband. The 3rd daughter-in-law, Ahui, is slack, gluttonous, and lazy, while her husband is rude, likes to drink in his spare time, and gets into fights when he argues with others. Sometimes he comes back in a bad mood, he would fight with his wife, this couple often quarrels. The second son doesn’t quarrel, and neither does the eldest son because he henpecked and listens to his wife. The 2nd couple love each other.
6:00
They never quarrel. They live in the countryside, and most of them are farmers. The 3 daughters-in-law need to take turns cooking. One year, they are harvesting. In the past, they had to rely on manpower to harvest. It's not as mechanized as it is now. It's the 3rd daughter-in-law's turn.
Farmers used to eat 5 meals a day during harvesting. Ahui was originally very lazy. After making lunch, she went to bed until woke up with a start and realized her family would be back soon for snacks.
7:00
I haven't cooked yet. What should I do? She worried that her rude husband would beat her when he returned. She could only let him beat her. The more she thought about it, the more upset she felt.
Why was she upset? The eldest brother was henpecked, the couple wouldn't quarrel. The 2nd couple got along very well. The couple was very loving and never quarreled. My rude husband always liked to hit people for no reason. The more she thought, the angrier she was. She told the kitchen god. There was no gas stove. They used a big stove with a chimney and stuck a picture of kitchen god on the wall. I know this because I used to be like this. Every festival we worship the kitchen god.
8:00
She complained to the kitchen god. My good-for-nothing husband neither learns from others nor thinks for himself. He neither learns from the eldest brother nor learns from the 2nd brother, but only knows how to beat people. kitchen god isn't efficacious and has not blessed me, worshiping him is worthless. She kept accusing and complaining.
When the eldest daughter-in-law, Ajiao, returned home to take the snack, she saw her was blaming the kitchen god and said: What are you blaming?
Uh Sister, something you don't know. I overslept and didn't make snacks.
