Speaking of relics, Let's take a look at the relics of the Buddha.
This is the relic of our teacher Sakyamuni Buddha, the one at the middle. According to the sutra, Buddha relics is the strongest and most solemn among all relics. Even if you hit the Buddha's relic with a hammer until the hammer is broken, the relic is still intact.
Besides, relic can change according to people's heart. People may see different colors and sizes when looking at the same relic. It's so wonderfully versatile. You may not see it if you are not sincere. If you are sincere, relic may be inspired and manifested. There are books recording the mystery of relic more or less. I don't need to speak too much about it.
Except Buddha relics, relic of Bodhisattva is the next, and relic of Arhat is the next, and the relics of eminent monks and laypeople of great virtue.
The most famous example in China is the whole body relic of the Sixth Patriarch Huineng. Since Tang Dynasty(713 AD), the body relic of the Master Huineng, without any preservative or removing internal organs, has been sitting cross-legs. 100 years before he was born, an eminent monk predicted that a Bodhisattva having flesh body would promote dharma here and ferry countless beings.

Some time later, another monk passed here and saw the stone monument recording this thing, he inscribed another stone monument and predicted there would indeed be a Bodhisattva having flesh body, and that indicated Master Huineng.
He said that he would preserve his flesh and give everyone confidence. When the time was up, he just sat and transform from Tang Dynasty till now.
In China, there are a few famous examples of flesh body, like the Master Hensan, who was one of the 4 eminent monks in Ming Dynasty, and the flesh body of Master Dantien and the flesh body of Nun Unlimited Store. Those are very special and rare.
Further, Master Huineng, as a layman, received the dress and bowl passed down by the first to the 5th Patriarch. So Dharma is a heart method.
