Rebirth Example - Lay practitioner is thankful for Buddha’s support 王蕭秀妹老居士 感佛扶助
(English subtitles) This is a rebirth example in the Land of Bliss (Sukhavati) from Taiwan. Lectured by The Return Thinker
subtitles:
Next, let's look at Lay practitioner Wang Xiao, Xiumei. She is the loving mother of Doctor Wang of the Pure Hut Chanting Buddha Society. It's said that she has ten children. We can clearly appreciate the hardships of a mother raising a large group of children. She is a well-behaved, down-to-earth housewife.
Because her children attended the lecture held by the Lotus Society in the college,

they contacted Buddhism and kindly brought the dharma back home, and that transformed this elder. From then, she brought forth the resolve to practice Buddha dharma. I have seen numerous elders with such good characters. As long as they determined to do this thing, they will do it devoutly and will not slack off at all.
Although she raised these children in hardship, it paid off eventually. As far as I know, her large group of children and grandchildren are all filial. Almost all of her descendants are Buddhists.
2:00
In our Taipei Pure Hut Chanting Buddha Society, it's so rare that they are not only a Buddhist family but also a Buddhist clan. This is attributed to the great maternal teaching of laywoman Wang. After converting to Buddhism, she especially favored reciting Amitabha. With the persuasion of her children, she realized the benefit of reciting Amitabha. Let us admire her compassionate smile and solemn look. It can be said that she is a blessed person.

The children said that when being sick in her later years, she had auspicious signs. Sometimes her room is filled with exotic aromas. Even though she usually couldn't get up at the time, she received a response from Amitabha helping her to the bathroom and walking in the living room, and that's induced by her devoutness.
So, when she was sick and couldn't reach the rosary, she used the quilt instead to recite the Buddha. Only those who are skillful at chanting buddha have this behavior.
So, when the elder was dying, his children recited Buddha for her reasonably according to Buddhist teachings.
4:00
They had been chanting for her before and after her rebirth. Later, I heard that one of her daughters witnessed the Buddha coming and her mother sitting in a lotus flower and being reborn. These are extraordinary scenes.
I have a deep impression, that we received the message in Taichung and took a car to Taipei overnight to help with the chanting. While we bent on helping with the chanting, the car was not helpful and broke down on the highway in the middle of the night.
At that moment, we tried to use the power of chanting the Buddha's name to keep the car moving in case some cars would bump our tail from behind in the dark.
5:00
Then our car was rolling down till it stopped. When looking to the side, we found that there happened to be a car repair shop, so we left it to them and switched to a taxi and kept on our journey. Maybe that was a secret blessing from the Buddha.
Her face remained solemn until she was buried and didn't look like the dead at all.
What touch me most is that it's said her filial descendants chanted Buddha for her day and night non stop, 24 hours a day for 49 consecutive days. There were always people who took turns chanting the Buddha and transferring the merit to her. This is the most prominent clan in our Buddha Chanting Society.
From the rebirth of Laywoman Wang Xiao, Xiumei,
6:00
you can realize the importance of teaching children. The reason why her offspring are so outstanding is obviously due to her great maternal teachings. She must have behaved herself well and set an example for her children. She affected the children, and that's the cause. The way her children repay her great education is to lead her to chant the Buddha for rebirth in the Bliss World altogether, which is the best repayment.
Maybe you are blessed to have your parents alive, but like me and others, our parents are no longer alive.
7:00
Sooner or later, even if everything goes well for you, you will eventually encounter the most basic pain, if you still have a conscience, that is separation from your dearest and closest parents. That pain is unbearable and unimaginable for us. But the Buddha, out of compassion, solved this basic pain for the living beings and opened up a great path to rebirth in the Bliss World through chanting Amitabha. If one is devoted to chanting Amitabha, he will go to the Bliss World and live with virtuous people, no longer reincarnating and replacing pain with happiness. It's said that after the cremation of the elder, there showed up a few relics.
