Positive Belief vs Superstition 5/7 - Obey the Wise Words in Sutras to be Free from Rebirth 正信 vs 迷信

Then the Buddha told Maitreya: All beings are the same as the prince. This is a metaphor. Because they are baffled by the wisdom of the Buddha, they are born in the jeweled palace. There are jeweled palaces in the borderland of the West, where Ground is paved with gold, Pillars are made of jewel, Lotus bloom in the pond and the birds are singing. It is joyful inside.
People are born in the borderland of the West where has no penalty. How could the West has penalty? People never have a thought of evil thing. Why? There is no casino, no place to gamble. No bars to have a drink. No nightclubs, no girls to accompany. No indecent erotic show to watch. You won't even have a bad thought.
But you won't see the three jewels in 500 years. Because you ferry him to the western borderland with a life expectancy of 500 years. If you cultivate by yourself and go to the western borderland, you'll have a lifespan of 1000 years. Those who are ferried there have a lifespan of 500 years. Within 500 years, they can't see the three jewels.

You have to notice this three jewels. Normally, we say the three jewels, which is buddha, dharma is reason, and sangha is monks and nuns. How come you won't see three jewels. Amitabha is preaching there, that's buddha jewel. Sermon is dharma, that's dharma jewel. There are many monks and nuns, that's sangha jewel. Why say no? What he says is the self nature three jewels. Platform Sutra by Sixth Patriarch says.
What is the self nature three jewels? It says clearly in the Buddhist dictionary. Buddha is awakening; Dharma is positive and justice; Sangha is to have purity. Because in the 500 years, you can't be awakened, you can't bring forth the heart of righteousness, you can't bring forth the heart of purity, So it says they can not see three jewels. can not make offering, or practice good roots. Because of this, they feel suffering. Although there are a lot of amusement there, still they are not very happy.
Thus, it is clear. You say, want to ferry him to the West. He cannot even sit here for 1.5 hours. You let him sit for 500 years in the borderland of the West. He will scold and swear: Damn short-lived children. I'd rather be a man drinking and gambling for fun than to have you ferry me here and make me suffer. Children like you cursed by him all day will be unlucky.

It's really said in the Buddha sutra. But, why do masters say the West is a bliss world? If you chant the Buddha's name, you'll go to the West. Yeah, that's right. But you have to understand that Buddha's words include meaningfulness and meaninglessness. What's meaningfulness? Meaningfulness is the truth. Meaninglessness is like cheating.
In the 5 precepts, it says don't tell lies. We are told not to lie, why did the Buddha lie? We have to know. There are 3 kinds of delusional words, one is big delusional word, another is the little delusional word, the other is the expedient delusional word. What is the big delusional word?
The big delusional word is: One hasn't yet cultivated to the state of being free from reincarnation but claim to be a living Buddha, a supreme master. That's the big delusional word, and he will go to hell. So The Lotus Sutra says: If one hasn't got but says he has got it, that is arrogance due to the progress. You must understand this reason. If you don't research the reason, you'd get headache.
I have a letter to show you if you come to my house. He said he graduated from a Buddhist academy. The more he learns, the more contradictions he has. He asked the professors, and they shook their heads. He is baffled. Even the graduate of buddhist academy doesn't know the reason. I am not talking nonsense, the letter is still there. You can go to Lin and check his name and address real or fake. He is very pitiful. What is it? They won't tell you the point. After speaking out, their financial
resources will be cut off. Why are the financial resources cut off?

If you want to take disciples, according to the precept, you can only take one a year. If you take two a year, you have violated the precepts. You get a book of precepts and read it. You cannot preach for money. If you preach for money, that's
preaching with wicked fate. Monastics can not do business. If you do business, you will have wicked fate, which is one of the 8 wicked ones. If he tells you, can't do this, can't do that, he messes up his own career.
Somebody told these classmates: Your teacher is awful. He specially breaks our rice bowls. They say I break their rice bowls. But I honestly tell the truth. I always say the meaningful reason. I don't say meaningless reason. What is meaninglessness? That's white lie. What's white lie? It's for your own good. You kids don't know anything, like a toddler or like a kid in the kindergarten. You gotta pat his head. You're a good boy, you're the best.
