Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

A few years ago, a laywoman in Taiwan got cancer. She has a great fortune. Her husband has a high political status in Taiwan. She heard that there are great spiritual practitioners in India in the Himalayan Mountain, and she wished to receive blessings from them. So she spent a lot of money, made lots of efforts to find an outstanding master in the Himalayas.
After this master sat in meditation and observed, he said: “I can cure you of your disease - cancer. But there is a condition. You will get cancer again in your afterlife because your karma is not eliminated.”
So, I've noticed that those who are good at meditative concentration can adjust the order of your karmic schedules.

He mobilizes your good karma in the first place. I think this practitioner is very honest. He spoke the truth. Anyway, it's your stuff. Currently, your bad karma is present. By meditation, I forcefully push your bad karma back and pull your good karma out. But you will get caner again in the afterlife.
Later, this woman, who might also be a Buddhist, decided to give up and return after careful consideration. She would rather terminate it this life.
So, the rationale of Buddhist dharma comes from the right viewpoint. From this right view, we begin to stop evil and do good, seek luck and avoid calamity.
If you emphasize divine power today, its delusional form will give you the wrong impression. Creating bad karma won't induce painful result. Creating good karma won't induce peaceful result either. Then the worldly rules will be disrupted. You don't know what right or wrong is.

I was a heretic before became a Buddhist, and I used to follow a few prominent masters.
For example, there is a master who has meditative concentration. He could go 49 days without eating, only drinking water, and still be full of energy. When he met you the first time, he knew what had happened to you.
However, once I remembered clearly, I went out with him. There was a leaf falling from the tree. He was nervous and immediately asked his god what was going on. In fact, falling a leaf is falling a leaf. He took the outside matters very seriously. He didn't attach importance to his karma but observed his circumstance. There's a northwest wind blowing today. What happened?

He started to get nervous. Isn't it “seeking method outside the mind”? Your mind should calmly dwell on good karma and right thoughts. That is taking refuge in the Three Jewels. That is the way to seek luck and avoid calamity.
After comparison, personally, I am deeply convinced that Buddhism is correct. It really can get rid of suffering and gain happiness, and avoid calamity and seek auspiciousness.
For example, it talks about one thing in discipline. In the time of Buddha, when a group of monks were asking for alms, they wanted to cross a river. At that time, many monks had meditative concentration, and they had divine powers. For the sake of convenience, those monks flew across the river. The Buddha knew about it afterwards and reprimanded them.
4:00
He said: From now on, for those monks who have divine powers, when seeing river, you can't fly across it but take a boat. You should cross the river by boat and shouldn't cross it by flying.
Why did the Buddha praised manifesting divine power when preaching the precept? But why was he against manifesting divine power when crossing the river?
That is, you must have the cause and condition of eliminating evil and raising good to manifest divine powers. When beings do evils, you deal their bad manners with divine powers. When beings don't like to do good, you manifest the form of merits to guide him. Why do you manifest divine powers to cross the river? Just take a boat to cross the river. Beings won't stop evil or do good because of seeing it. So, when we read Buddhist sutra, we see that some things are conflicting, but we should read their meaning.
