A man was looking forward to having a son. Since he got married and his wife became pregnant, he was determined to give his son a good life. So, he tried to make money by all means, even using some evil means. He committed sins and made a lot of money.
After the child grew up, the father got sick and died. Then all the wealth was given to the son. Later, this kid raised many cows. Every year or festival, he would choose the fattest cow and slaughter it.
Because this father made lots of bad karma and was attached to his son, he was reborn as a cow at his house. As a result, the fattest cow killed by the kid was the father cow. The first time he was killed. He was reborn again and was killed the 2nd time.
The 3rd times, one day Sariputra passed that place. He had divine ability and saw the cow was crying. The cow was talking, and he was able to listen. It said: It has been twice that I was reborn and killed by my son. My beloved son is trying to kill me again. It's okay that you eat me, but I am suffering when being killed. What can I do?
Sariputra heard the cow was crying. So we Chinese say: Cows cry but don’t run, you just don’t understand what they are talking about. Sariputra had divine ability, so he knew this cow was pitiful. When the rich man was dragging the cow to be slaughtered, Shariputra told him: Did you see this cow is crying? Yes, all cows cry, he said. Then, it was talking, you don't understand, I translate for you.

It said: Son, you've killed my twice, it's so painful. I am willing to be eaten by you, but it's too painful to be killed. What should I do? On hearing that, Is it real? Then the cow's eyes become his father's eyes. At that moment, he held the cow and cried out loud. Then Sariputra told him the causality.
Your father committed a lot of sins because he loved you. Now he has degenerated into a cow. Father owes son debt. He has given you so much, yet you still want to eat him. The fate for this man has come.
Therefore, I often advise everyone to make offerings to monks. If you make offerings to monks, one day, maybe there will be an Arahant and Pusa among them. When the causality matures, he will come to you and talk about this matter. If this person has no such causality, he has no chance.
So after Sariputra talked abut it, he repented. He wouldn't kill this cow any more and kept it at home. His father. Thus, he studied Buddhism very hard. The cow was also freed from pain.
This is a story in the sutra. Talking to here, I have to advise you not to eat beef.
