Master Chin Kung - Chant Buddha Only to Avoid Suffering and Get Happiness for Self Can't be Reborn

I believe that every Buddhist student that we practice together. Who doesn't want to have a sincerely respectful heart. Why are you still insincere and disrespectful after so many years of study? Unkind, unrighteous, disloyal, ungrateful. We must seriously reflect on ourselves. What's the reason? Though we are listening to the sermon or studying Buddhism but didn't carry out actually, I haven't done it. Do I treat people honestly? Do I handle things in a respectful manner? Do I deal with issues with morality and benevolence? If none of these are present, we are still dishonest, disrespectful, unkind, and unrighteous. Therefore, though you chant this Buddha's name every day and have chanted a lot. The Buddha's name is mixed with many delusions and distractions. These things destroy all our efforts to chant the Buddha. That's what we say: ineffective efforts. Why is the effort ineffective? Being destroyed. Doubt, really doubt.

There's certainly doubt that the pure mind is not present. You don't know, you think you have no doubt. Remember, all of you, if there is really no doubt, you are following the teachings. If you didn't do it, you have doubts, have delusions, distinctions and obsessions, and the mind is still creating karma. Master Ci Yun told us in his note of the Chapter of Bodhisattva Mahasthamprapta Reaching Perfect Penetration Through Mindfulness of the Buddha. There are 100 kinds of rewards for chanting Buddha. The 1st sentence at the beginning is Avici Hell. Why do people chant Buddha and go to hell? The Buddha chanting is mixed with bad delusions. When your thoughts, words, and actions are not good, and you ask Amitabha to bless you. How could this good thing happen? One transgresses the Buddha's teachings and pretends to be a disciple of the Buddha.

This sin is so heavy that his recitation of the Buddha has brought him the fruit of hell. This is not a very long instruction from the master. It is worthy of our vigilance. The cause he said to fall into hell. His original text reads, the purpose of your buddha chanting is for the 5 desires and 6 dusts. The 5 desires are wealth, sex, fame, food, and sleep. The 6 dusts are sight, sound, smell, taste, tough, and idea. Once chants buddha for the sake of coveting the 5 desires and 6 dusts, praying the Buddha will bless him to acquire these. Whether he gets it or not, the karmic reward is hell. You say how terrible it is. Chant buddha to seek birth in the Western Bliss World(Sukhavati) for yourself and to be free from sufferings and get happiness. Can he be reborn? No, he cannot get reborn. The Western Paradise is excellent really. The words in the scriptures are right.

It's superbly magnificent and uniquely fantastic. Is it for you to enjoy? Sukhavati is marvelous, and if I go, I will never leave. Wrong, this is mistaken totally. This kind of person can not be born there. What kind of people can be reborn? I go to Sukhavati to study and to be enlightened.
After enlightened, I will generally ferry sentient beings. This is the requirement that Buddha needs, which is called great bodhicitta. First, vow to ferry unbounded sentient beings. If you don't have this vow to ferry beings, you are not eligible for Sukhavati. This is something that we shouldn't be unaware of. Amitabha leads these sentient beings to Sukhavati to be enlightened. Enlightened for what? Enlightened to ferry sentient beings. There is not a single buddha or bodhisattva who does not liberate sentient beings.
