Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

The aunt of the Wang family in Wen'an County was the fifth young sister of my late mother, Mrs. Zhang. This aunt once told an experience she had before she got married. One day, she was admiring the scenery on the Ferry Sail Tower. She saw a boat anchored on the river from afar. A middle-aged woman who looked like an official's wife was lying on the boat window crying bitterly. Many spectators stood by the river.

So my aunt sent a wet nurse to find out. After a while, the wet nurse came back and reported: "The crying woman is the wife of a certain governor. She just took a nap on the boat in the afternoon and dreamed that her dead daughter was tied up and slaughtered. The screams were so pitiful and dreadful that she woke up in a panic." However, after waking up from the dream, the sound of sadness still lingered in her ears, as if coming from the neighboring ship. So the lady sent her maid to check it out. She found that the neighboring boat had just slaughtered a piglet. The blood basin was still there, and the piglet’s blood had not drained out yet. After listening to the speech, the governor's wife felt that the piglet might be the reincarnation of her daughter.

Thinking of the daughter she saw in her dream just now, whose feet were bound with twine and whose hands were bound with red ribbons. So she quickly ordered her maid to check again, and it was the same as what she had seen in her dream. After hearing this, the governor’s wife was even more heartbroken. So he spent double the price to buy the slaughtered piglet and planned to bury it properly. Many of the Governor's servants are talking in private: This young lady died early at the age of sixteen. She was very soft and gentle in life, just loved chicken so much that she had to have it for almost every meal. If there was no chicken on the table, she wouldn't move her chopsticks. To satisfy her appetite, at least 700 to 800 chickens had to be slaughtered each year.

This is probably the consequence of her heavy killing karma.
