Butcher Xu Fang would first dig a deep pit in the ground before slaughtering a donkey, then cover the pit with a wooden board, drill four holes in the board, and insert the donkey's four legs into the holes.
When someone comes to buy donkey meat, depending on the amount they buy, he pours boiling water on the donkey to make the hair fall off, and the meat is half-cooked before cutting it off.
He added, "It has to be done this way for the donkey meat to be tender and delicious."

After a day or two, the donkey died only after all its flesh had been cut away. Before the donkey died, though its muzzle prevented it from bray, its eyes bulged with fury, blazing like two torches—a sight too dreadful to behold. But Xu Fang didn't care at all.
Later, Xu Fang contracted a disease that caused his entire body to rot and ulcerate, leaving him covered in sores and wounds, his appearance resembling the donkey he had butchered. Lying on the bedding, he moaned pitifully, unable to live yet unable to die, enduring forty days of agony before finally succumbing to a tragic death.
During his illness, he realized that he had committed extremely grave sins by killing donkeys in a cruel way throughout his life. On his deathbed, he urged his son to change careers immediately.
After Xu Fang died, his son became a pig butcher. When I was a child, I saw him working in this career of butchery,

A family that accumulates good deeds will surely have abundant blessings, while a family that accumulates evils will surely have abundant calamities.
