Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

There was a man named Feng Shunan who was literate and had some ability, but he had been wandering in the capital for more than ten years and had never been successful. Even when he encountered opportunities, he always failed in the end. He begged others for help, but they agreed verbally but ignored him in reality.

The poverty in life and the psychological depression forced him to go to Lu Dongbin's temple to worship and pray for dreams, wishing that the immortals would incarnate in his dreams and give him inspiration and guidance on his destiny.
That night, he dreamed that someone told him, "Don't resent the hardship of the world and the indifference of human nature. In fact, your fate in this life is all of your own making, so what's the use of holding a grudge? In your previous life, you liked to gain a good reputation by relying on false words.
When you come across an act of charity, even though you know it is impossible to accomplish, you still try your best to encourage others to do it, so that they will thank you for your approval and advocacy.
2:00
When you encounter a wicked person breaking the law, you know that his crime is unforgivable, but you defend him again and again so that he will be grateful for your salvation.
Although your actions cannot be said to be of any benefit or harm to others, you act as a good person and make others grateful to you, while all the resentment and hatred are directed at others. You are going too far in using this cunning and treacherous scheme.
What's more, you put yourself in the position of an outsider in the things you support and encourage, or the people you try hard to save. Whether success or failure, the benefits or harm involved, will all be borne by others.
Whenever there is something that slightly against your interests,
3:00
you desperately run away from it. Even if you are watching someone burned by fire or drowning in water, you can rescue them from the disaster by just lending a helping hand. But you give up without doing anything because you feel troublesome. With such sinister intentions as yours, do you still need to ask deities for guidance?
Hence, others may seem close to you, but in fact they are very distant from you in their hearts. On the surface, he seems to care about you very much, but in fact, he is very indifferent to you in his heart. It is natural that such a thing happens.
Think about it yourself, should this situation happen to you? The ghosts and deities require that if a person happens to do a few things wrong,
4:00
he can make up for it with his other good deeds. But if this person is cunning and scheming, then he won't be tolerated by the laws of the underworld.
Your life is over. You can only make efforts to cultivate goodness and accumulate blessings for your next life. This man named Feng Shunan eventually died of hunger, cold, poverty and illness.
