Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

Good evening, the great virtue, brothers and sisters. I am going to talk about karma. The modern people don't know the severity of karma. That's why we have chaos in our society. Now I am going to talk about the real stories for your reference. If secular people have made mistakes in the past, they may repent and start over, also can cultivate a rightful fruit. The Book of Changes talk about karma. Families that accumulate virtues will have residual blessings. Families that accumulate evils will have residual sufferings.
The Book of Changes has the most profound truths in China. The families that accumulate virtue will acquire very good descendants. If the families that accumulate sin, their descendants may have disasters. Many people don't understand. If the ancestors do benefaction, it is reasonable to leave the merits to their descendants.
Why did the ancestors who commit crimes will leave sufferings to their descendants? The descendants think they didn't do wrong. It's the ancestors who commit sin. Why am I suffered? He doesn't understand karma.
Why? If the ancestor doing evils, his descendants did evils too in the past lives. So he is born in a bad family. We have to know that the reason is well-rounded.

If you listen regular, you will know karma is very serious. Let's take a look at the common terms in Buddhism. It's said in the Buddhism vocabulary. There are 3 kinds of karmic retribution, that is retribution in this life, in the afterlife, and in the lives after the afterlife.
What's the retribution in this life? That is doing deeds now and get retribution in this life. If you do good, you will get a reward in this life. If you do evil, you will also get retaliation now.
What is retribution in the afterlife? Namely, if you have karma now, no matter it's good or bad, you will get retribution in the afterlife. Then, what is retribution after the afterlife. Namely, people do good or do evil now but won't get retribution until 2, 3, 10, or 100 lifetimes after.
When it comes to the retribution in this life, I remember our teacher, Lee, at that time. He didn't have a decent place to preach the way and went around like guerrillas to preach the truth of karma. He usually lived in the hotel. One morning, the rain poured down. One morning, the rain poured down. Teacher thought that he would go out for breakfast after the rain subsided. Then a lodger came and asked him, Old mister.

Our teacher had a beard since he was young. He was still young back then. Because he had a beard, everyone thought he was an elder. “Old mister.” They lived in the same hotel but different room. “Can I borrow your umbrella? I want to go across the street to buy bean juice and will be back soon.”
“Sure, but I am going out for breakfast too,” said Teacher.
“It doesn't matter,” said the opposite side. “I will be right back after I buy the bean juice.” Then teacher said okay and lent him the umbrella. After the man went out, Teacher waited more than an hour, but he never showed up. Teacher asked the attendant of the hotel. The neighbor lodger borrowed an umbrella from me and didn't return for an hour. Now I have to go to breakfast, but I don't know hot to get there.
“You were fooled by him,” said the attendant.
“What do you say so?”
“Because he had paid the money for hotel and returned the key, and servant had cleaned the room. He took away all his luggage and is not likely to come back. If he needed an umbrella, he could have borrowed from the hotel, why did he borrow from you?”
On hearing that, Teacher thought he was unlucky. Why did Teacher think so? When Teacher sold medicine, customers paid according to their preference. Sometimes, he couldn't cover the cost. And he couldn't afford a new umbrella. What could he do? The only umbrella was taken away. He had no choice but to ask the attendant to borrow an umbrella.

“After breakfast, I will return the umbrella and won't be like him.” The attendant knew teacher's character and was not worried he would run away. Then he borrowed an umbrella from the attendant. Back then Teacher was young and not rich, feeling upset. How could there be such a person? He cheated me of my umbrella, and I have no grudge against him. At that time, teacher took a bath and washed his head. Because he lived in the hotel alone and nobody visited him. He then sat in meditation and asked for instruction.
