Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

Mr. Kang's favorite hobby is fishing. He goes fishing on the river every weekend. Over the years, he has fished immeasurable fish.
“Aguo, why do you come so late today?”
“I didn't expect you will come earlier than me. So, how many fish did you catch?”
“I just came. The fish hasn't taken the bait yet.”
“Yeah? Maybe I'll be the first one to catch a fish today.”
“Well, we'll see.” “Oh, the fish is hooked. Ha, what a big fish. I'm so lucky today.”
One day, Kang came to the river to fish again.
1:00
“Uh, look, what are they doing? Why do they put the fish in the river?”
“Oh, they are releasing lives.” “Releasing lives?”
“Yeah, recently, some Buddhist buy fish and shrimp with lots of money and release them in the river.”
“Spent their own money to buy fish and release them. That's ridiculous.”
“By the way, that Achang used to fish with us. Now he is a Buddhist and often comes here to release fish.”
“Aguo, what a coincidence! Do you come fishing?”
“Yeah, Achang. You haven't been fishing for a long time.”
“Now I don't fish anymore. I advise you guys to stop such a brutal hobby as well.”
“Why do you say fishing is a brutal hobby?”
“Right. Didn't you used to go fishing before?”
2:00
“Alas, you are right that I used to go fishing before. However, after an incident, I changed my mind. So now, I not only stop fishing but also release lives from time to time, so as to make up for my past mistakes.”
“What exactly did you go through?”
“One time, I caught a big fish and brought it home to make a dish. At that time, it suddenly jumped out of the bucket and bit my toe. I shook it several times before I finally got it off. But my toe was bleeding from a fish bite.”
“What? Bleeding from a fish bite? The fish here eat water plants and don't have sharp teeth or claws. How can it bite you so seriously?”
“Yeah, for fish, we humans are much larger, and they seem vulnerable when facing us.”
3:00
“But have you ever thought about what makes the dying fish resist so strongly?”
“Yeah, how could a fish be so powerful?”
“Back then, I didn't know that until then I met a Buddhist. He told me: Even fish, which we underestimate as the lower-end animal, aspire to survive, So it struggled desperately to express its resentment before dying.”
“Are you saying the fish is getting back at you?”
“Well, I caught it from the river and would kill it. It must be mad at me. But my encounter was not that bad. Many people who kill animals have suffered worse consequences than I have. So, you'd better not go fishing, or karma will come upon you, and it will be too late.”
“Aguo, I think we'd better not go fishing today.”
4:00
“No way, do you really believe his word? What the karma? I am not convinced anyway. Besides, those people just throw fish into the river. We're just in time to catch them.”
“It's said you shouldn't catch the released fish. Would you?”
“Why not? Didn't you see how many big fish they released? Let's go, don't think too much. Even if we don't fish them, others will.
Ha, look, just for a while, the fish is hooked.”
“After they released fish in the river, fish became more. Today I will return with a full load.” “Oh! Alas.”
5:00
Gradually, the friends around Kang stopped fishing and turned to join the activities of releasing lives. But he still ignored his friends' advice and continued fishing.
“Is Aguo still unwilling to participate in our releasing of animals activity?” “Yeah, he's too stubborn, and he doesn't believe in things like karma.”
“Aguo, why do you come fishing again?”
“Ha, because I knew you are coming here to release fish today, so I came to take a look.”
“Are you here specifically to catch the fish we released?”
“Right on, the fish you release is so easy to catch. Moreover, they are bigger. How could I pass up such a great opportunity?”
“Fishing equals killing. In addition, you catch fish that others have released, which is even more sinful.
6:00
Don't wait until karma comes your way and you regret it.”
“Yeah, Aguo, don't fish anymore. Come with us to release lives.”
“Hmph. For me, karma is not to be trusted. You release your animals, and I'll go catch my fish. We have nothing to do with each other.”
“Alas.”
“I cannot catch the fish that are released. What a nonsense. You such fools don't eat your fish but dump them. Since you don't want them, I will catch them myself.”
Soon, karma befell Kang. He felt unwell and went to the hospital for a check-up. He was shocked by the diagnosis that he had blood cancer. “Doctor, I just have a little fever, how can it be blood cancer?”

7:00
“Your condition is very serious and you must be hospitalized. In addition, your normal blood cells are low, so you need constant blood transfusion.” Because Kang's condition required chemotherapy, he lost some of his hair and became thinner, and looked like an old man.
“Hubby, you're awake. Do you want some water?”
