Đại Nguyện Nguyện 18 trong 48 Đại Nguyện của Phật A Di Đà : Nếu con được thành Phật, mà chúng sanh trong mười phương dốc lòng tin tưởng, muốn sanh về cõi nước con chỉ trong mười niệm, nếu không được toại nguyện, thì con chẳng trụ ở Ngôi Chánh Giác, trừ kẻ phạm năm tội nghịch và gièm chê Chánh Pháp. Nam Mô Pháp Giới Tạng Thân A Di Đà Phật Lời Khuyên Tịnh Độ (Ấn Quang Đại Sư) “ Ấn Quang từ Tây qua Ðông, từ Bắc xuống Nam, qua lại hơn vạn dặm, gặp gỡ nhiều người. Trong số đó, lắm kẻ bình nhật tự vỗ ngực là bậc thông Tông, thông Giáo, coi Tịnh Ðộ như uế vật, chỉ sợ nó làm bẩn lây đến mình. Lúc lâm chung, đa số chân loạn tay cuống, kêu cha gào mẹ. Trong số ấy, có những người trì giới niệm Phật già giặn, chắc thật, dù Tín Nguyện chưa đến mức cùng cực, tướng lành chẳng hiện, nhưng đều an nhiên mạng chung. Vì sao như vậy? Là vì tâm thuỷ trong lặng, do phân biệt nên xao động, đục ngầu, sóng thức trào dâng. Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

【26】Buddha is a goal, and Dharma is the process of moving toward the goal
When the Buddha was alive, there was a very famous Dharma supporter named Elder Sudatta, who was a great Dharma supporter in Buddhism. He had attained the first fruition during his lifetime and had four indestructible beliefs, having an unshakable faith in the Three Jewels of Buddha, Dharma and Sangha. So he announced: All monks, as long as you have any needs, come to my courtyard and I will fulfill your wishes. If a monk needed something and went to the Elder Sudatta's door and said, "I need a cup." The elder would give him a cup. If he needed a bowl, the elder would give him a bowl. If he needed a kasaya, so the elder gave him one.

This Elder Sudatta was a very wealthy. He had a large courtyard with several palaces. Whenever a monk stood in front of the Elder's door, there was a big tree in front of his door, and on the tree there was a parrot. The parrot would quickly flew to the inner courtyard and said to the Elder: Monk is coming! Monk is coming! Then the elder knew that a monk has come, and he would quickly go out and give whatever he needed. Therefore, every time a monk stood in front of the elder's door, the parrot would be responsible for reporting the news. In addition, it also rejoiced with it and praised the elder's support of the Three Jewels.
One day, the wise Buddha observed that the parrot's karmic reward was about to end, so he said to Ananda, "Before you go begging in the morning, please do one thing for me."

Would you hurry to the home of this wealthy elder and enlighten the parrot four phrases: "This is suffering that you should know; This is the cause that you should cut off; This is the way that you should cultivate; This is the cessation that you should realize it." This is the Dharma door of the Four Noble Truths. At this time, with the Buddha's compassionate order, Venerable Ananda came to the door of the wealthy elder. The parrot was about to go and inform him again. Ananda said, "Come here, I have something to tell you. Please come down first. There is no hurry." He said to the parrot, Buddha asked me to advise you: This is suffering that you should know; This is the cause that you should cut off; This is the path that you should cultivate; This is the cessation that you should realize it.
After hearing this Dharma, the parrot was overjoyed and circled the tree seven times.

After seven times, it flew to the elder and announced that Venerable Ananda had arrived. Not long after that, the parrot was attacked and eaten by a fox while taking a rest at noon. All the monks were very sad and said that when they went to the elder's door to beg for alms, they relied on it to report and were grateful for it. These monks ran to the Buddha and asked where the parrot would be reborn in the afterlife.
The Buddha said that before the parrot died, it was delighted very much and praised the Dharma.
It will first go to the Heaven of the Four Heavenly Kings, then to the Trayastrimsa Heaven, the Yama Heaven, the Tushita Heaven, and even to the Paranirmitavasavartin Heaven, making seven round trips among the heavens in the Desire Realm. In the last life, he will be reborn in the human world.

In a place where there is no Buddhism, he will achieve enlightenment and becomes a Pratyekabuddha.
In other words, when you listen to a worldly concept, if you study psychology or science, it will become knowledge after you learn it. But, when this knowledge enters your mind, it cannot produce the effect of eliminating evil and bringing forth good, breaking delusion and revealing the truth. There is no way.
But you have listened the Buddhist teachings, everyone! You come here to learn Buddhism. Even if you are very lazy in this life and do not practice it faithfully, your efforts will not be in vain. Because you have planted the seed of the Buddhism. The merits of the dharma will create a kind of vehicle that will carry you. One day, when your good roots are activated, they will generate a powerful force

that will force you to learn Buddhism. There is no way you can resist learning it. When your good roots mature, there is no affliction that can stop it. Why does this teaching have such power? Because it comes from the heart of the Buddha who has attained enlightenment. It is given by the Buddha. It has the power to guide you toward Nirvana.
Through the practice of this Dharma, we can achieve comprehensive enlightenment. So Buddha is a goal, and Dharma is a process toward the goal.
