Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

This one is the disciple of Master Luhuang. Master Guanghua used to be a soldier too. Before learning Buddhism at the age of 34, he liked to eat meat and drink wine very much.
Once, his army was stationed next to a village raising countless ducks and chickens. He couldn't eat his meals without ducks or chickens on the table everyday.
One day, a few months later, when the dish was served, he didn't see any duck. He was yelling, why is there no duck today? The kitchen aid said, Eat duck, eat duck, you've eaten all the ducks. He said, are you kidding me? This is the village raising ducks. How could I have eaten all the ducks? If you don't believe, go check yourself. He took his aide and drove a jeep around the village and didn't see a duck or chicken.
Everyone is born with an innate conscience. Seeing this scene, he was so frightened that he got goose bumps. Then his conscience and buddha nature were inspired, and he said, that's terrifying, I've eaten so many lives unwittingly. Think about it, without touching the dharma, we will be bewildered and create bad karma.
The secular people would say, as long as having a kind heart, why do we have to learn Buddhism and be mindful of the Buddha? This word is only half true. Of course, you must first have a kind heart. Let's look around, there are many secular people who kill animals and eat meat. They kill when getting married and take nourishment during pregnancy, and Kill again to celebrate the birth of a child.

Kill again when the child is one year old. Then kill to celebrate the birthday of the elders. Till death, they still kill to make offering to the ancestor. To covet the desires of the mouths, worldly people consume countless billions of lives. When the impermanent life is end, they realize they can bring nothing from the dream except karma . When the time is up, let alone other sins, just for the lives they have eaten and killed, which are tremendously sinful.
It's said, didn't so-and-so just have a 70-year-old birthday party, why is he having a funeral now? Some elder intellectuals would say, don't you see how he had his birthday party? Kill so many animals for a birthday party. The lord of heaven has a mercy for living things. How can such a person keep existing in this world? Then the lord of heaven seizes him back as soon as possible. Lest he should kill too many animals if he lives longer.
Because of this incident, his conscience was induced and he began to study Buddhism gradually. Later, he was so devout that he left home for practice. He also practiced the Pure Land dharma. Once, he was worshiping buddha. He bent down and heard the ducks quacking. When he got up, he apparently held a duck on his chest. Then he turned around and found groups of chickens, ducks, cows, pigs, dogs line up in a long row. He was really frightened and said, that's really scary, my karma has come. All were the lives he has eaten or killed.

Thus, they came to him to collect debts. He was worried that he would be seriously ill, so he asked the people in the temple to watch him, worrying that he would be in trouble or get sick. That very night, he fell for no apparent reason while walking on level ground. He broke his leg and sat on a wheelchair. He is the famous wheelchair master in Taiwan and sat on the wheelchair for 20+ years.
When he lectured, he would mention his experience. In his book – The benefits of vegetarian, he especially spoke out in detail. He expounded so clear that deserves our vigilance. After this experience, he practiced desperately and knew the dread of causalities. Although in the wheelchair, he still followed the rule of dharma.
Before his rebirth, he followed the ancient rule and transferred precepts in line with the dharma. About 50 people came to take precepts according to the ancient rules.
In addition, they held bowls only begged for alms for food and definitely not for money. Sometimes, they did somethings for others and never received money. Adherence to this attitude of practice has enormous blessings.

After transferring the precepts, according to the precepts, they had to settle down from the 16th day of the 4th lunar month to the 15th day of the 7th lunar month. That is, all the monks do not go out but gather together to practice and repent.
When he finished transferring the precepts, right after the students has received the precepts and had the most sincere and devout devotion, he was reborn peacefully during the settlement. It's just in time that those students could help him with his chanting, and dealt with his funeral. Otherwise, there was only a few people in his temple.
I was also lucky to help chanting for him. I feel that such a respected master has an indescribably refreshing smell lying there. It's not like a regular corpse at a funeral home.
