According to legend, Monk Dushun of the Huayan (Flower Garland) Sect is incarnation of Manjushri Bodhisattva. He had a disciple who had been with him for 20 years. What was he doing with the master everyday? There is nothing special. Every morning when he woke up,

he recited the Avatamsaka (Flower Adornment) Sutra once. Then he went out to plant crops and did all kinds of work. At night, after reciting the Avatamsaka Sutra again, he fell asleep. He did that everyday, nothing special. After following Master for so many years, he felt a little bored. One day, he said to Master: Master, I have a wish. I want to go to Mount Wutai to make a pilgrimage to Manjushri Bodhisattva and leave you temporarily. Master smiled and asked: Are you serious to make homage to Manjushri Bodhisattva? The Master said: I'd rather you not go, it's the same to worship here. He thought the Master was keeping him and said: It's different, I want to worship Manjushri Bodhisattva.

The Master saw he was attached and said: Since you have to go, take care, and I will give you a few words: Travelers drift with the tide. You go out is like go with the current. Where are you going to see the Bodhisattva? Worship soil slope in the mountain. When you reach Mount Wutai, can you worship the real Manjushri Bodhisattva? you just worship a pile of soil. A pile of soil with 5 platforms. At most, you worship the mud statue of Manjushri Bodhisattva. Is it Manjushri Bodhisattva?. No, you worship the soil slope.
Manjushri is just this, where will you find Amitabha (self nature)? These words are very clear.

Manjushri is right here. In fact, these words make a pun. Manjushri is here, One is to imply identity of Manjushri. Another is pointing out Bodhisattva and Buddha is actually self nature. How could you get it by seeking externally? Even if you've found the World of Bliss, you can not find Manjushri Bodhisattva.
Monk Dushan also asked him to deliver two letters by the way. The two letters are addressed to very special people, to Mummy Pig and Cool Girl respectively. Addresses are written on the cover, ask him to find them.
He followed the address on the cover and searched everywhere. What is the Mummy Pig? A family has a big pigsty. Where is the Mummy Pig? He thought it was an old woman who raised pigs. He thought it was an old woman who raised pigs.

He kept calling Mummy Pig. Then the old female pig replied: Don't yell, I'm here. It's me. He gave her the letter. The old female pig read it and said: My old friend is going back, calling me to go with him. After saying that, she was standing there and reborn silently. Then he went on to send the second letter to cool girl, who is a prostitute in a brothel. The disciple thought to himself: Who is the Master? What kind of friends does Master make? It's right to leave him. Cool Girl got the letter and read it. Want us to go together? So, we will go now. After reading the letter, she passed away. Who are these two? Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. At that time, the disciple was not clear yet. After arriving at Wutai Mountain, he went on a tour to pay homage.

At this time he met an elderly practitioner and asked: Is there an incarnation of Manjushri Bodhisattva here? The elder told him: Manjushri Bodhisattva is not at home recently. He went to Chang'an to ferry beings. Chang'an? I come from Chang'an. Monk Dushan in Chang'an is the incarnation of Manjushri Bodhisattva. Oh! On hearing it, this disciple was stunned. What a surprise. Say no more, I have to go.
After a hurried journey, he finally returned to Chang'an. But the castle gate was closed at nightfall. He entered the castle the next day, But Monk Dushan was in nirvana the night before. There are numerous such examples of manifestation among the great practitioners of history. But today, most Buddhists are not so impressed by this.

People are more interested in which master's hands can glow and touch my head and make it blossom. What I say blossom, isn't to burst the head. Unfold wisdom, head emits light, eradicate karmic hindrances. Is there secret mantra that I recite to eradicate karmic hindrances? Or give me a blessed treasure. When I wear it, all demons stay away from me. People aspire to these things. Just like Master Yinguang, he taught us that in learning Buddhism, we should respect the superior and get along well with the inferior. Must endure that people cannot endure. Must do things people cannot do. Help others with labor. Fulfill other's wish. Sit still and often reflect on yourself; avoid gossiping about others faults.
