Don't think that you fully understand this book, Analects of Master Kuang Chin, and put it lightly: it's easy. I'll tell you, there are some places inside, without my explanation, you have no idea what he's talking about. There is a monk, who has left home for 20 years. He held this Analects of Master Kuang Chin and never understand a phrase in it. He asked people everywhere.
Which phrase did he not understand? The venerable Monk expounded: One cannot be reborn( in the Pure Land) with karma. He was stuck on seeing this phrase. He then went to the buddhist academy and asked an elder, saying, the Elder, “Why did the Monk Kuang Chin say, 'One cannot be reborn with karma?' If so, we are in trouble! How to explain this?”
The elder told him: One cannot be reborn with karma. It is that one cannot be reborn with bad karma. One can be reborn with good karma. The elder explained: One can be reborn with good karma.
I am not satisfied with this answer, he said. Then he went and found another one, a significant elder. He said: Monk Kuang Chin said, 'One cannot be reborn with karma.' What does he mean?
The elder said: To be reborn whether with karma or without karma. We have discussed this issue for decades and written a long article without a conclusion.

We don't have an answer yet. He wasn't content with it. Later, he thought of finding someone with great wisdom, Master Hui Lu, known as the first wise man, to see how he explains. He had queried all these elders and thought of me finally.
Then he came with this book to the lecture hall. I told him: We are printing many books of this, you don't need to bring it.
He said: I have never comprehended a phrase in this. I myself am a dharma master also preaching dharma. But I'm confused how to explain this phrase. Monk Kuang Chin said: One cannot be reborn with karma. But these elders said: One can be reborn with karma. May I ask Master Hui Lu, you've studied Buddhism for 30 years. Can you answer it perfectly.
Well, then listen to me carefully, I said. The so-called one cannot be reborn with karma, from the view of Monk Guang Chin, one with karma cannot be reborn in the Realm of Eternal Rest and Light. But can be reborn in the Realms where mortals and sages dwell, Temporary realms for arhat, and Realms of permanent reward and freedom for bodhisattva.
What is karma? First, define what is karma. Because we are delusional, we create karma. Right? When one is delusional, he creates karma. Why is one delusional? Because of avidya. There are 3 kinds of avidya. The 1st one is the avidya of view and thought.
4:00
The 2nd one is avidya of dust and sand, which is boundless. The delusion of bodhisattva is avidya of dust and sand. The delusion of arhat is avidya of view and thought. Further, The delusion of Equal Awakened Bodhisattva is fundamental avidya or birth form avidya. There are 3 kinds of avidya.
So, what does karma mean? One arises delusion and creates karma due to avidya. Then he does it repeatedly. So, based on this word. That is, with avidya, you cannot enter the buddha's purified real-formed world. Namely the Realm of Eternal Rest and Light. As long as bringing a little bit avidya, you cannot enter the buddha's purified real-formed world.
So, one cannot be reborn with karma. It means one cannot be reborn in the realm of eternal rest and light. Someone said: the so-called karma,a great layman said the karma is the avidya of view and thought.
I said, it makes sense too. Sukhavati is great because it accepts all sentient beings with higher, medium or lower roots. Let's look at it another way. If a person cannot be reborn with karma, Sukhavati needs not to divide the lotus into 9 grades. Just divide into 1 grade. Namely, either can go or cannot go. Why does it need to divide into 9 grades?
6:00
If one cannot be reborn in Sukhavati with karma, that Book of Sage in Pure Land should be burnt. How many people out there have cut off delusive views and thoughts? If one cannot be reborn with karma, the Pure Land Buddhism is not special at all. All dharma have to stop delusion, and it does not deserve to be called a special and excellent dharma.
Monk Kuang Chin said: One cannot be reborn with karma. He has his merciful purpose. Then he will create karma while chanting Buddha. So, Monk Kuang Chin stop you immediately. That is, you must know it clearly. After hearing dharma, you shouldn't arise greed, resentment, or obsession again, and crave wealth, sex, fame, food, sleep.
So, one cannot be reborn with karma, that is Monk Kuang Chin's compassion, telling you not to create karma. You must not think you have dependence when hearing this phrase, and keep creating karma while chanting buddha. The so-called one can be reborn with karma is to suppress his delusion by chanting buddha. That is to subdue one's delusion. It is described in the sutras as stone press grass.
