Do Phật hiệu nên tâm thuỷ ngưng lặng. Bởi thế, kẻ thượng trí chẳng bằng kẻ hạ ngu, biến quá khéo thành vụng về lớn vậy!”

UNDERSTANDING THE MANTRA
________________________________

“It is unwise to be too sure of one's own wisdom. It is healthy to be reminded that the strongest might weaken and the wisest might err.” — Mahatma Gandhi

What is Humility _ it is the absence of arrogance/ego/pride.Humility is the foundation of all virtues.

In the world we see that we act very fake & in superficial ego.We indulge in false praises & take pride of ourselves over petty things- our wealth, our talent our knowledge, our beauty, our kindness, our sacrifices, renunciations etc etc. We also tend to always find faults with others. Little do we realise that all human beings on earth are equally blessed with unique capabilities & qualities; but our pity is that in our ego we fail to see the good in others , nor are we able to see our follies;but all the great men throughout the world were all down to earth human beings first & in their humility they could rise to teach the world how important it is to be humble to be a real human being.

To imbibe this virtue of Humility,we need to look within ourselves & ask_Does this everything, I feel proud of is mine ? & Do the others whom I look down upon have nothing to be appreciated?’ And have the riches ,education, talent ,I am blessed with, made any difference to the humanity at large?

When we introspect,we are humbled by our follies & the wrong acts we perform knowingly or unknowingly; We are full of self -contempt & start lamenting about our ill doings. But this knowledge comes when we introspect ourselves ‘honestly’ in the light of truth without any self pampering or self flattery ; and when this knowledge comes, the journey begins. Then one acknowledges one’s nothingness, leaving all I-amness behind. One becomes forgiving ,truthful, loving ,contented, peaceful & full of eternal joy all the time.

Actually, Humility is the very thin line between confidence & arrogance; it is not denying your strengths,it’s being honest about your weaknesses. It is the wisdom of accepting the truth that you might be wrong;it is respecting others & their point of view;it is reverence of Life, reverence of Creation & in the true sense, self reverence ,self confidence.

Humility is your power just as this beautiful quote says, “All streams flow to the ocean because it is lower than they are ; Humility gives the Ocean its Power.”

This is the central idea of this Mantra;let us chant this powerful mantra——
