This year, heavy rains have caused the area to be flooded, destroying all the crops. Volunteers in Africa were unable to travel across countries due to the pandemic. Therefore, local volunteers have step up and carried out the distribution works.

In China's Jiangsu province, Tzu Chi initiated the book giving event at Zhengxin Primary School. A total of 36 students received bags filled with books, hoping to develop good reading habits.

In New Taipei City's Zhonghe District, 81 year old Mr. Wu lives alone since his wife and daughter passed away and his son works in China. Items piled up in his house became more and more as Tzu Chi volunteers were mobilized to help clean up.

7.汐止祖孫自立
In Xizhi District, New Taipei City, there is an elderly Mrs. Lu, whose son passed away seven years ago. She is left with her daughter-in-law who is a new immigrant from Vietnam and two granddaughters. Mrs. Lu treats her daughter-in-law like her own daughter and takes care of all the household chores.

8.三芝石門義診
In Taiwan, Northern district TIMA members have gone to Sanzhi 三芝and Shimen to provide house calls to solitary seniors. The doctors and medical volunteers have brought much needed love and care to the seniors.
