【Be Amiable to Form Good Affinities! Transcend Sentient Beings with Pleasure!】/Master Hai Tao
A businessman once asked me, “Master, I've been working so hard, but my company hasn't turned a profit at all." As the proverb says, “Amiability attracts riches." Keep a smile on your face! Show me your smile, please. Some people even forget how to smile because they have maintained poker faces for long. “An even-temper brings wealth." That's how business works! Always smile! Never lose your temper! Consequently, the business will get thriving. If you keep a poker face with a quick temper, the God of Wealth will be kicked out.
Therefore, your fate, attitude, and actions matter most. In addition to obeying the precepts, one should start changing one's attitude. According to the Sutra, if you are in a bad mood, and smiling is the last thing you feel like doing, you should recite “Namo Maitreya." Isn't Maitreya merciful and compassionate? He makes himself look chubby and always smiles at you, featuring “transcending sentient beings with pleasure."
While in pain, recite “Namo Avalokitesvara." Avalokitesvara, embodying compassion, helps the needy, relieves the distressed, and lifts beings out of the abyss of darkness.
Maitreya, symbolizing mercy, offers abundant joy and happiness. Therefore, they are called “Infinite Merciful Maitreya" and “Great Compassionate Avalokitesvara."
The Bodhisattvas demonstrate the characteristics for you to learn. As a result, changing your attitude changes your fate. No matter you have cancer, suffer from an illness, or earn a large profit, as long as you believe in cause-and-effect and have a kind and compassionate heart that forgives, everything will go well and smoothly.
